I love cats. I’ve never owned a cat but based on all the internet cats I’ve seen, I love cats very much.
A few weeks ago, I went to a cat café called The Company of Cats. I didn’t know about that particular cat café until the afternoon that Mystery Friend and I were going.
I was enchanted by
The Company of Cats’s cat pun-filled website: “Meowketing Director”, “KGB (Kitty Girl’s Brigade)”, “Catppuccino”. These people speak the language of my people!
After obsessing about the website, I imagined a fun filled night of kitty chin scratches and lots and lots of cat snuggles. Of course, things don’t always turn out as you wish.

There were a lot of cats at
Aripuca and I’ve featured a sun bathing cat in Caturday.
One of the most fascinating of the feline was a very fluffy white cat. It was majorly adorable but I didn’t dare get too close in case it ran off.

Back when I was in high school, there was a Hong Kong drama about a man with special needs but with a golden heart. The character’s name was Fei Mao (Fat Cat) so I thought it was funny when I saw this rather fat cat in my hostel in Hong Kong.
The cat had a huge belly and a bell at its throat so it rang musically where ever it went. One of its hobbies was to scratch the side of the fake-leather couch.
In the hostel, there was also a sign warning people against feeding the cat. I later found the cat being ushered into some other person’s flat so I suspect the hostel doesn’t own it.

I don’t know if cats actually know that I’m taking photos of them when I wave my camera in their face. Maybe they just find the rectangular object annoying so they turn away.
Good news is, Emo Cat is less emo when you look from afar. In the background is the ruins of an ancient bath.

Black Beauty in Istanbul
If I had a cat, I would like to have one that is all black. That way, it wouldn’t look too dirty if it rolled around in something.
This cat was resting at the Istanbul Archaeological Museum before I went to disturb it. It walked off, ignoring me.
When it reached the steps, it turned back and gave me a mean look. Meow!

I found this fluffy bundle in front of my hotel door. At first, I thought it was a dog because of the size but I realized much later that it was a really fluffy cat.
Its tummy was all open for tummy rubs but I think it would claw you instead if you ever tried that.
