I love cats. I’ve never owned a cat but based on all the internet cats I’ve seen, I love cats very much.
A few weeks ago, I went to a cat café called The Company of Cats. I didn’t know about that particular cat café until the afternoon that Mystery Friend and I were going.
I was enchanted by
The Company of Cats’s cat pun-filled website: “Meowketing Director”, “KGB (Kitty Girl’s Brigade)”, “Catppuccino”. These people speak the language of my people!
After obsessing about the website, I imagined a fun filled night of kitty chin scratches and lots and lots of cat snuggles. Of course, things don’t always turn out as you wish.

Location: Dubai Zoo
Dubai’s zoo wasn’t really worth visiting because the whole place isn’t sheltered. You have to animals in cages under the hot desert sun.
The animals seem that they are too hot too move and you’ll have to contend with visitors who do not have zoo etiquette. Nearly all of them were banging on the cages of the animals as if it would animate the prisoners inside. I kept wishing the tiger would jump up and bite their hands or something.
One of the exhibits was a lioness who was just lying around doing nothing.

[This post isn’t exactly up on a Caturday but my brain is still jetlagged in a Caturday time zone. Let’s all pretend it’s still Caturday. Meow!]
One of the exhibitions at the Hong Kong Museum of Art was about sunken treasures from ancient Chinese ships.
Among the collection was this marble cat. It’s very catlike but the color’s a bit off. It looks like it has skin disease.
I didn’t realize that we couldn’t take photos so that’s why we see it on Caturday. It might also be the oldest cat in the Caturday series.
Cat inner monologue:
I knew that this assignment won’t be easy but I need the money for catnip. Why did I even touch that drug in the first place.
I’ve been following the target since this morning but strangely, I think somecat is following me too. I keep looking over my shoulders but I only see humans. I think I’m losing my touch.
The target has stopped to lean against this wall. He can’t hear me because I’m a silent assassin. Maybe if I pounce now, I can eliminate the target immediately. Here goes nothing.

I found this cat in Troy. Unlike other cats I’ve met on the road, this is more affectionate. Maybe it smelled food on me or something.

Black Beauty in Istanbul
If I had a cat, I would like to have one that is all black. That way, it wouldn’t look too dirty if it rolled around in something.
This cat was resting at the Istanbul Archaeological Museum before I went to disturb it. It walked off, ignoring me.
When it reached the steps, it turned back and gave me a mean look. Meow!

The problem with photographing cats is that they never seem to have another expression aside from disdain or a “Get out of my face!” look.
This grey cat was found lazing in the rose bushes at the exit of Haghia Sophia.

I found this fluffy bundle in front of my hotel door. At first, I thought it was a dog because of the size but I realized much later that it was a really fluffy cat.
Its tummy was all open for tummy rubs but I think it would claw you instead if you ever tried that.
