Singapore to Kuala Lumpur train service cancelled

One of my favourite transportation for long distance trips is the train. I love reading about train travel too. There’s something about being able to see the town/city fly by the window.

I love travelling from Johor Bahru to Kuala Lumpur on the night train. But I have sad news. The train from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur is no more.

Singapore To KL train cancelled
(I realised that this is not the night train but it runs the same journey as the night train does.)

I didn’t find out about this until a friend who found my blog post asked why he couldn’t find the legendary train service on the booking site any more.

I will miss the cramped beds. The acrobatic skills I need to climb to the upper bunk. The curtains that need to be pinned for privacy.

I won’t miss the snoring passenger cross the corridor though.

Until the train service returns, we still have buses, planes and cars.

      1. Hi Sabs, they have a short Singapore to Johor Bahru train service for those working and living in both countries. I haven’t tried it but I don’t think it would have been as fun as the old train.

    1. There is still a train service! Just not a night train because it upgraded and is much faster now. You have to transfer at Gemas.

I too liked the night train, though trying to figure out whether it is your stop at 4am in the dark is a bit nerve wracking :P
